The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German heavy tank in 1:35 scale.
The King Tiger was the heaviest tank used during World War II. It was designed as a response to the new Soviet T-34 85 tanks produced in large number at this time. Tiger B had an armor capable to bounce any Soviet bullet at longer distances, while his own 88 mm. KwK 43 L71 gun was capable of piercing a 17 cm thick armor at a distance of one kilometer. Powerful armor and advantage in firepower were not enough to win every fight. The vehicle also had a number of defects. The complicated suspension and his maintenance, which was extremely important at nearly 70 tonnes. The weight of the tank also affected its speed and maneuverability, as the Germans did not have a powerful engine to make the vehicle achieve full combat potential at high speed. Failure of propulsion units and traction occurred quite often. The last problem, probably the most important, was the cost and complexity of production. Over the last year of the war, fewer than 500 vehicles of this type were manufactured. It was definitely not enough to change the course of the war.
The Tamiya kit allows building Second World War German Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf.B tank with the Henschel turret, along with the commanders figurine. The box contains 2 parts of the hull, 5 frames with plastic parts, a screw for attaching the gun, a mesh for making the engine covers, rubber tracks and decals.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
