The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German military car in 1:35 scale.
With the adoption of the Volkswagen Garbus for military purposes, the Wehrmacht began work on the design of new multi-tasking off-road vehicles. One of them was Schwimmwagen. It was an off-road vehicle with similar performance to the Kübelwagen but was designed to overcome water obstacles. Its bottom was sealed, and the body resembled a boat profile. A lowered propeller was added to the rear of the vehicle, and the front wheels had a role to maneuver. The car was primarily responsible for reconnaissance and communications. In the years 1942-1944 over 14 thousand Schwimmwagen Type 166 was produced.
The Tamiya kit allows building the Schwimmwagen type 166 Schwimmwagen off-road car with a driver figurine. In the box, there is a chassis component, 2 frames with plastic parts, a transparent glass, a mesh for the engine cover and a decal.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
