The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British medium tank in 1:35 scale.
Defeat of the French in 1940, plunged the British armory resource mostly abandoned at Dunkirk. Lack of adequate infrastructure and even projects (British tanks had Liberty engines designed during World War I!), resulted in the restoration of armored troops being very laborious. For the purposes of armoured corps, adaption of aircraft Rolls-Royce Meteor engines was planned. But before Rover adapted them for mass production, they released the first models of the new cruiser tank – A27L Centaur with Liberty engines. In 1943, production of A27M Cromwell tank has began, alongside with modernization of the existing Centaurs. Such modified vehicles received the designation Cromwell Mk. IV. Further changes related to retooling of 6-pounder gun to QF 75 mm gun, adapted for armor-piercing and high-explosive ammunition. Before the start of operation Overlord, most of the armoured divisions (including 1st Polish Armoured Division) had received tanks of this type for their reconnaissance regiments ( Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment).
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the British cruiser tank Mk. VIII A27M Cromwell Mk. IV model along with the commander. Box includes a part of the hull, 5 sprues with model parts, transparent headlights elements, string, rubber tracks and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from the 7th or 11th Armoured Division, the Welsh Guards Armoured Division or personal tank of gen. Stanislaw Maczek called Hela from command squadron of 1st Polish Armoured Division).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
